The Winter Garden at York House is without a doubt one of the most beautiful wedding ceremony rooms in all of London. With it’s huge windows letting the light seep in, high ceiling and white walls covered in ivy, you can point the camera in any direction and capture a gorgeous backdrop. It’s the perfect place to host your legal bit and was made even more special for Izz (she/her) and Tim (he/him) as Izzie’s mum was their registrar! The big wedding is happening in Cornwall 2027, so it made perfect sense to utilise mum’s connections to York House and host their incredibly special legal ceremony here. I started coverage half an hour before the ceremony to document the gorgeous buzz of family setting up flowers and guests arriving:
The Winter Garden Ceremony
Making the most of the gorgeous late September sun, Izz & Tim chose to enter the Winter Garden room together via a little walk outside (and yes I geeked out at the light!). They filled their ceremony with incredibly personal moments from family including readings from their siblings and a song performed by Tim’s sister-in-law that had everyone in tears.
The Winter Garden Grounds at York House
After the ceremony we gathered guests onto the iconic staircase in the grounds of York House, right outside the Winter Garden room, to shower Izz & Tim with confetti (quite literally). In between hugs and recording a video to send to Nanna we took a few group photos on the steps and even found five minutes to run into the grounds of the Winter Garden to take a few snaps of the two of them. With half an hour left of the two hours coverage I made sure to document every detail I could find and every little moment between guests I could observe. From personalised love hearts, to napkins with their cats faces on, to Izzie sharing the story of her ring with friends, to capturing as many of the hand-painted champagne glasses I could see (yup, they painted all 50!)
The Classic Car at York House
As the sun was setting the classic car arriving at York House to take Izzie & Tim to dinner, so we nabbed a few photos of them enjoying the the last of the Chapel Down with it before they waved their guests goodbye and drove off into the sun set. They had booked my London Town Hall 2 Hour Package and I delivered a gallery of 400 images - that’s how much gorgeousness they had going on! Bring on the biggy in Cornwall 2027…
